Table lights are very useful and present in everyone\'s home.
People use them to read and learn.
CFL lamps are the most commonly used table lamps, but the problem is that they are too power and need to be plugged into the external power supply.
LED lights are much cheaper and energy efficient, but the cost of buying LED lights from the Internet and shops is still more than $10.
What if you make one at home?
Well, it can be easily made with some cheap and basic electronic parts.
So doing them at home will kill your time and save money as it only takes about $518.
You may have seen many instructions on the LED light, but the special thing about this lamp is that it is very cheap because it uses a stainless steel ruler and cardboard to make its structure lying nearby.
There is no need to make it using wood, plastic or acrylic, so special cutting tools are not required.
This is re-driven by two 4 v sealed lead acid
Rechargeable battery with 36 LEDs for easy reading in the dark.
It also features a dimming circuit powered by 555 ic for changing the brightness of the lamp by adjusting the potentiometer.
The lamp can be charged using a 9 v adapter.
While I have done a detailed guide and made sure that beginners can understand it easily, if you have any questions related to Instructure, if I make any mistakes, feel free to ask and help me correct.
___ Update: It\'s not easy to reply to every comment on so many structures, so you can ping me for any help/discussion/query.

It takes the following parts to make this lamp.
Total cost including all parts listed below (not the tools)is about $5-6 or 300 INR.
The cost depends on the website or store you purchased the part.
If you do not want to increase the dimming circuit, the cost will be reduced to $4. 5 (
According to the cost of parts in India).

1x7805 voltage regulator 1x toggle switch 1x red or green led 1x3 for rechargeable batteries.

1 uf ceramic capacitor 1x TIP 31c or any other pnp power transistor Perfboard rainbow cable tool: a pair of scissors for soldering iron solder wire cutter/Stripping: a carton 30 cm steel tape white and black paper adhesive bread plate, the power prototype needed to power this lamp should be greater than 5 v.
Powering it at a voltage below 5 v reduces the brightness of the LEDs.
Therefore, you can use a battery with a 6 v or higher voltage, but the battery should not exceed 12 v because the voltage regulator is too hot.
I used 4 v batteries because they are the cheapest ($1 each)
There are two such lamps that can generate a voltage of 8 v, which is enough to power the lamp.
Then the problem is the type of battery to use, lead
Acid should be the best option if you want your lights to be as cheap as possible.
Their advantage is that they can simply connect to the adapter to charge and do not allow any special chargers. Using lithium-ion, ni-
Cd, alkaline batteries, or any other type of battery will greatly increase the total cost of the lights, but they will be a great option if you want your lights to last longer.
In order to assemble the back of the battery, simply stick the two batteries together with double-sided tape and connect them in series, which means connecting the positive pole of one battery to the negative pole of the other.
Then finally weld the two wires to the remaining terminals of the battery.
Increase the voltage of connected batteries in series (
This means that the resulting voltage is the sum of the two battery voltages)
Connecting them in parallel increases life or current.
This is done to improve battery life, but 4 v is not enough to power the lights, so I connected them in series.
Make sure the battery is welded fast because overheating can cause problems.
Use pliers or simply cover the zoom scale with black paper as shown in the above figure.
A ruler is used to support LEDs.
I use a steel ruler because it is cheap and easy to bend and can be easily bought from stationery or craft shops.
You can also use adjustable metal tubes that can be obtained from hardware stores.
Cover the sealing board with white paper.
You need a pin to punch holes in the pcb as they will be covered with paper.
White led needs 3 due to power conversion to 5 v.
6 V operation, so can not be connected in series.
Connecting them in parallel means they still need 3.
6 v, giving them 5 v directly will damage them, so a current limiting resistor needs to be added for each led.
The formula for calculating the resistance value is-
Resistance value (in ohms)= (Supply Voltage-source voltage)
/Current required for each led (in amps)= 5 -3. 6 / 0. 02 (20 grains = 0. 02 amps)= 1. 4 / 0.
02 = 70 ohms because 70 ohms is not the standard value, either 68 ohms is used or 82 ohms is used.
To weld the LEDs, please refer to the layout above.
After all led welding is completed, all led groups are connected in parallel.
Then simply connect the two long wires to the positive and negative leads.
Cut unnecessary perfboard.
It should be cut into a square with some rectangular parts left to stick to the scale.
Do not throw away the excess part as it is needed to weld the dimming circuit.
The first reason for this step is that this step is needed to make a circuit prototype, which is the next step.
As shown above, weld two diodes and two more wires
One is in the middle pin and the other is in the point where the two diodes are connected.
This step is optional and only for those who think it is not a good idea to weld the circuit directly on the perfboard.
Therefore, use the jumper cable to connect all the components shown in the layout of the bread board above.
Connect the 5 v power supply and check by turning the pot.
The above picture shows the LEDs on 5% (
Lowest brightness)and 95% (
Highest brightness).
The circuit for this project is from talkingelectronics. com.
The circuit is only used for one led.
555 is able to give the maximum output current of 200ma.
Therefore, connecting all the led directly to the output will overheat the ic.
I modified the circuit a bit and added a tip31c transistor, so now all LEDs can be driven safely.
Weld the entire circuit according to the schematic diagram given above.
Do not weld the ic directly, but use the ic socket because the ic will damage the ic if it is overheated.
Use hot glue or adhesive to stick the scale to the center on the back of the box.
Paste the perfboard on the scale as described above.
Use double sided tape to stick the battery pack to the box.
Make sure it\'s easy to close the box and there\'s plenty of room left.
The toggle switch is used to switch the switch of the lamp.
Connect it as shown above.
The middle pin of the pot is connected to pin 2 of the ic and the pin connected to the pot diode is connected to pin 7 of the ic.
Make a hole in the back of the box and let the led wires go through these holes.
Then connect the positive pole of the led to pin 8 of the ic, and connect the negative pole of the led to the collector of the transistor.
The diode is connected to the adapter jack so that the charging led is lit only when the adapter is connected and not when the light is turned on.
Connect the adapter jack to the positive and negative terminals of the battery.
Connect the charging led directly to the adapter jack with a 330 ohm resistor connected in series.
When you finish all the connections, stick the circuit above the battery pack.
Make sure there is enough space in the box.
Make four holes in the box in the desired position to place the toggle switch, Pan, adapter jack and charging led.
The toggle switch and potentiometer are added to the front.
You can simply make holes with a pencil or wooden string.
Put everything in the box as mentioned above.
Add a knob to the pan and fix it with glue.
Check all connections again and re-
Loose connection for welding.
Seal the box and temporarily add tape to keep it in place.
Take a piece of cardboard slightly larger than the perf board.
Cover one side with black paper and cover the other side with white paper.
Stick it on the platform board with a black side on the front.
The last step to finish the lights is to add black bars in the corner of the box.
This makes the lights look good in the combination of white and black.
So cut some black notes about 5 cm x 2 cm (make 4 of them)
Another measure is 11 cm by 2 cm (
Also do 4).
To charge the light, simply connect it to any 9 v adapter and the charging led will light up indicating that the battery is charging.
So this is the end of my second note.
Hope you like it.
If you think it is the winner, please vote for it in the contest.
Feel free to modify the lights for better results.
Here are some changes to make it better1)
You can increase or decrease the number of LEDs.
Increasing them will reduce battery life, reducing the amount of light they will reduce, but the battery will last longer. 2)
You can use different types of led such as 1 W, 3 W, or 5mm W led with lenses to focus the light on a small area. 3)
You can use different types of batteries, such as lithium ion or lithium polymer, which will make it lighter and better. 4)
You can use an external lens to focus the light, as the desk lamp only needs to focus the light on the table. 5)
You can paint the light in different colors to make it look better. 6)
The design of the lamp can be changed and can be made using different materials such as wood, aluminum or plastic.
Thank you for reading the instructions.
Please feel free to comment and ask any questions, please let me know I made some mistakes. THANK YOU :)
